SCARF FELTING CLASS OFFERED
Wednesday 19, 2011
MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning and Marquette Senior Center will co-sponsor a scarf felting class from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Peter White Public Library arts and culture room.
Jan Falk from Wisconsin will help participants create a silk and wool scarf with a wet technique called “nuno felt.” Wisps of colorful merino wool are laid out on a hand-dyed silk chiffon scarf and felted slowly and gently together. Participants will need to bring a sponge, bath towel and produce-size plastic bag.
The cost is $35 for NCLL members and $40 for non-members. Register by Oct. 27 by calling Elizabeth Bates at 345-9295 or 361-1454.
