World AIDS Day Dance Dec. 2

Tuesday 22, 2011

MARQUETTE, Mich.—A dance to promote World AIDS Day and support the Marquette County Health Department’s Continuum of Care Program will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, at Northern Michigan University. The event runs from 7:30-10 p.m. in the Huron Room of the University Center.

Admission is free and raffle tickets will be sold for $5. Local businesses have donated more than $500 in prizes, including gift certificates and product samples.

The Continuum of Care Program assists Marquette County residents diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, as well as their families. It also works to create awareness of the appropriate preventative services available.

Two NMU student groups are hosting the dance: the Black Student Union and OUTLook, which is an organization to help gay, lesbian, bisexual, straight and transgender students reach their fullest potential.
