MARQUETTE, Mich. — Northern Michigan University’s DeVos Art Museum will present an unveiling of reconfigured furniture pieces by NMU students and local community members at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. The New Materialists, a Chicago-based band, will also perform using musical instruments and technology derived from defunct furniture parts. The event is free and open to the public.

         The reconfigured furniture piece exhibit was led by John Preus, a member of the New Materialists. Its unveiling is part of the exhibit titled “You Complete Me: Mediating Relationships in Contemporary Art,” which will be on display through Nov. 11.
