New Business Competition Deadline Nov. 15
MARQUETTE, Mich.— All Northern Michigan University students are invited to participate in the New Business Venture Competition, which is an opportunity for students to present their entrepreneurial ideas for a chance to win $9,000 in cash prizes. The deadline to submit proposals for this year’s competition is 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.
Students enrolled in the 2012-13 academic year can compete individually or in teams of up to five people. They must complete an “Intent to Compete” form, including a business proposal, for the new venture idea. A faculty/staff committee will screen the applicants and decide in early December which students will advance to the April 4, 2013 final event, where they will participate in a trade fair display, deliver a 60-second elevator pitch and give an oral presentation on their business proposals.
The competition is sponsored by the NMU College of Busines. For details and the “Intent to Compete” form, visit nmu.edu/business.
