Dance at NMU Raises Money for HIV/AIDS Support
MARQUETTE, Mich.—A World AIDS Day Dance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, in the Superior and Ontario Rooms of the University Center at Northern Michigan University. Money raised will go to Marquette County Health Department’s Continuum of Care program, which provides medical, financial and other support services to individuals who have been diagnosed with HIV and their families.
“The hope of this event is to raise awareness of what the Marquette County Health Department’s Continuum of Care Program does and its mission in the community, as well as raise funding for them. The dance will also provide resources for those interested in more information on HIV/AIDS and testing,” said Joshua Garnett, co-president of the student organization OUTlook, which is putting on the event.
This event is free and open to the public. Dress is casual. To help raise money, raffle tickets will be sold for prizes and light refreshments will be provided.
