Nativities Displayed at NCLL Event

Wednesday 5, 2012

MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present “A Northern Nativity” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 128 Timber Lane in Harvey.

Carol Margrif, a nativity collector and NCLL member, attended the Friends of the Crèche International Conference in Toronto in November 2011. She will show visual images from the field trips and classes she took. These include a priest’s collection of 1400 nativity sets, a visit to a 17th century Jesuit Mission Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, artists’ demonstrations and slides of members’ crèches from around the world. Many of Margrif’s own crèches will be on display. Music of “The Huron Carol” will complete the program.

This event is free for NCLL members and $5 for nonmembers. Register by Monday, Dec. 10, by calling 227-2979.
