MARQUETTE— Two local bands, Sam & Taylor and the Chanteymen, will perform on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Northern Michigan University as part of the Beaumier Coffee House series. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the Peter White Lounge of the University Center. Admission is free but donations are encouraged. 

            Sam & Taylor is a duo comprised of Sam Graves and Taylor Martin. They have been playing four years and their acoustic music has been described as “folky” and “soulful.”

            The Chanteymen is a musical ensemble playing folk music created by Christopher Lander Moore. They have been compared with bands such as The Misfits, Andrew Bird, Sigur Ros and The Mountain Goats. The Chanteymen have released an album and an EP.
