NMU Offers Online Orientation for Transfer Students

Thursday 9, 2013

MARQUETTE, Mich .—  A new online orientation is available for students transferring to Northern Michigan University. It is intended for students who have attended another college or university for a year or more before enrolling at NMU, or for those who work more independently. The online option is an alternative to the traditional one-day session held on campus, which will still be offered. This transfer orientation option is not available for students planning to major in art and design.

The program includes a discussion forum for incoming students to ask questions and connect with one another, a series of information presentations regarding transferring, a checklist of tasks to do after orientation and before attending NMU, and downloadable documents that are otherwise distributed to students who attend on-campus orientation sessions.

Admitted transfer students may register for online orientation by logging into the orientation reservation system or calling the orientation program. Once registered, an online orientation link will appear on the “Admitted to NMU” tab in MyNMU.

A traditional on-campus session will be available for students on Monday, June 3.

For the orientation reservation system and more information, visit nmu.edu/orientation or call 906-227-1707.
