NMU School of Education Awards Presented

            MARQUETTE, Mich.— The Northern Michigan University School of Education recently presented awards to its outstanding graduates. The students’ names, award titles and portions of their recognition summaries follow:

Michigan

Boyne City: Samantha Bricker, Elementary Teacher Education Award, “She works hard to build positive relationships and uses many different techniques to connect to her students in a positive manner and always has a smile on her face”;

Evart: Cameron Bancroft, W.C. Hoppes Elementary Education Award, “Cameron embodies the characteristics we find so important in our profession: leadership, dedication to learning, openness to reflection and the pursuit of opportunities for personal and shared growth”;

Laurium: Melissa Curtis, Secondary Education Recognition Award, “Her professionalism, effective lesson planning and presentation, positive relationships with students and her willingness to go beyond what is required are just a few reasons why Melissa Curtis was chosen to receive special recognition”;

Minnesota

St. Cloud: Suzanne Juip, School of Education Director’s Special Merit Award, “She is always willing to challenge herself and others. Every time I see Suzie’s name on something, I can assume it was done with care and integrity”;

Wisconsin

De Pere: Matthew Meyer, Secondary Teacher Education Award, “Matt has continually demonstrated a high level of professional preparedness and teaching ability and has surfaced as a leader in the physical education, health and social studies discipline.”
