Bone Marrow Registration Drive at NMU

Tuesday 17, 2013

MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Michigan University Volunteer Center will sponsor a “Be the Match” bone marrow registration drive. The drive will be held from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, in the Payne/Halverson lobby and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 24, in the University Center atrium. Registration is free and the procedure is painless and quick, requiring only a cheek swab to be entered into the national registry.

Participants could prove to be a match for someone suffering from one of 70 different diseases. Even if matched, choosing to donate bone marrow is entirely voluntary. For more information, contact the NMU Volunteer center at 906-227-2466 or volctr@nmu.edu.
