Make A Difference Day Service Requests Due Oct. 16

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Michigan University Volunteer Center is seeking service requests from area seniors who may need assistance with raking or other small tasks on Make a Difference Day, a nationwide event that celebrates neighbors helping neighbors. The requests are due Wednesday, Oct. 16, and will be assigned to student and community volunteers.

Make a Difference Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26. The NMU Volunteer Center is coordinating the event locally. Service request and volunteer registration forms are available online at Or for more information, contact the NMU Volunteer Center at 227-2466.

Last year, nearly 1,500 volunteers participated at more than 240 sites.
