MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Michigan University Volunteer Center is seeking service requests from area seniors who may need assistance with raking or other small tasks on Make a Difference Day, a nationwide event that celebrates neighbors helping neighbors. The requests are due Wednesday, Oct. 16, and will be assigned to student and community volunteers.

Make a Difference Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26. The NMU Volunteer Center is coordinating the event locally. Service request and volunteer registration forms are available online at www.nmu.edu/volunteer. Or for more information, contact the NMU Volunteer Center at 227-2466.

Last year, nearly 1,500 volunteers participated at more than 240 sites.
