NMU Students Host UPAWS Benefit
Friday 15, 2013
Northern Michigan University students will host Party for the Pets, a fundraiser for the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS). The event is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Masonic Building in downtown Marquette. It will feature a drop-in brunch, silent auction, Double Trouble DJ's, live musical performances, caricatures, face painting and more.
The students are coordinating the event as an academic service learning project for their leadership theory and practice course. All proceeds go to UPAWS.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 for community members and $5 for students (college and younger).
