MARQUETTE, Mich.— The next Your Health lecture at Northern Michigan University will be titled “Living Well with Parkinson’s Disease.” Dr. Tim Collier, professor in Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine and director of the Morris K. Udall Center for Excellence in Parkinson’s Disease Research, will present the information. He will give an overview of the disease and discuss the latest research and promising new treatments at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in Reynolds Recital Hall. His talk is free and open to the public.

            Collier is a professor in the MSU College of Human Medicine’s department of translational science and molecular medicine. He works with a team studying Parkinson’s disease with interests in cell transplantation, growth factors and more. He and colleague Kathy Steece-Collier will present “The Amazing Brain” earlier that day at Peter White Public Library’s community room . A hands-on program for grades K-6 will take place from 1-2 p.m. A demonstration and interactive program for grades 7-12 and the general public will take place from 2-3 p.m.
