Health and Wellness Talks Offered

            MARQUETTE, Mich. — Northern Michigan University will host a health and wellness educational series throughout the month of April. Graduate students from NMU’s health and human performance department will present the free forums in the recreational center lounge of the Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF).

The first three presentations will be on Saturday, April 12. They begin with "Healthy Weight Loss: Building a Healthy Lifestyle" at 10 a.m., followed by "Eat This, Not That: Answering Cravings with a Side of Exercise" at 11 and "Reading Labels and Weight Loss" at noon. A presentation on preserving nutrient quality while cooking takes place at noon  on Saturday, April 19. The series will close with two presentations from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 24: "Your Nutrition Recovery from High Intensity Sports" and "The Role of Low-Carb Diets in Health and Exercise Calorie Expenditure."
