NMU Prepares for Jamrich Demolition

Northern Michigan University is preparing for the demolition of the existing Jamrich Hall. Beginning Monday, May 12, officials will determine what to salvage from the building. Hazardous materials mediation will follow and fencing will be installed around the perimeter of the site, which will remain closed through the summer. Demolition is scheduled to begin in late May or early June, starting with the link from West Science and continuing with Jamrich Hall. Demolition should be completed the first week of August site restoration actives will be completed in early October.

During the demolition, Lot 25 on the northwest side of McClintock will be closed and used for truck and equipment access to the demolition site. Lot 25 will reopen prior to the start of the Fall 2014 semester.

Pedestrian access will remain open between the new Jamrich Hall construction site and the existing Jamrich Hall demolition site for the duration of the summer.
