NMU Blueberry Classic Golf Outing Scheduled
Editors: Please note the July 11 registration deadline
MARQUETTE, Mich.—The fourth annual Blueberry Classic golf outing is scheduled Friday, July 25, at the Northern Michigan University Golf Course in Chocolay Township. The event is designed to raise scholarship funds for NMU students who encounter unforeseen financial challenges. The advance registration deadline is Friday, July 11.
An NMU Student Flexible Aid Fund created by the event is a resource to which students can apply for help in covering costs such as auto repairs, medical bills, child care and course expenses not covered by financial aid.
The 2014 golf outing will feature fun activities throughout the course for golfers, regardless of experience level, and a blueberry menu put together by NMU executive chef Nathan Mileski. Activities include golf cart decorating at the beginning of the day and special hole activities such as “Blind Mice,” “Luck of the Draw” and “Relay to the Hole.” Chair massages will be offered at the end of the day.
To register for the 2014 Blueberry Classic, visit www.nmu.edu/BlueberryClassic. The cost is $100 per person, which includes greens fees plus shared cart, blueberry-themed lunch, beverages, snacks on holes and heavy hors d’oeuvres after golf. Questions can be sent to bclassic@nmu.edu
