MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Michigan University Volunteer Center and Wells Fargo are looking for area residents in need of a home renovation project to be completed by volunteers this fall. Applications are due Friday, Aug. 8. They are available from the front desk of the Jacobetti Home for Veterans or online at www.nmu.edu/cse.

            Preference will be given to veterans who meet the qualifications, but others are invited to apply. The recipient selected must be a low-income homeowner in need of a small- to medium-sized improvement project. Examples include, but are not limited to, porch repair, indoor/outdoor beautification and painting.
