MARQUETTE, Mich.— Nouri Gana, author of The Making of the Tunisian Revolution, will discuss his book and the current state of affairs in North Africa during a talk at Northern Michigan University. The talk will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the Brule Room of the University Center. It is free and open to the public.

            Gana is a professor of comparative literature at UCLA and has published numerous articles and chapters on the literatures and cultures of the Arab world. His work has been featured in scholarly venues such as Comparative Literature Studies, PMLA, Public Culture and Social Text.

            This presentation is part of the “Art and Revolution in the Middle and North Africa” mini-lecture series at NMU. The series is sponsored by NMU’s Black Student Union, College of Arts and Sciences and the departments of history, English and modern languages and literatures.
