First Aid/CPR and Basic Life Support Classes Offered

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Northern Michigan University’s School of Health and Human Performance is offering two American Heart Association classes: HeartSaver First Aid/CPR/AED and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. Each course is $60 for the public and $50 for NMU full-time students, faculty and staff. Register by calling 227-2130 or by emailing hhp@nmu.edu.

The HeartSaver First Aid/CPR/AED course is offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 18 and Saturday, Nov. 18, in the Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF) room 242. The registration deadlines are Oct. 10 for the October class and Nov. 7 for the November class. Completion of this course satisfies the First Aid and CPR requirements for new teacher certification in the State of Michigan.

The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course is offered from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, and from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, in the PEIF room 242. The registration deadline for both October courses is Oct. 3 and the deadline for the November course is Nov. 7.
