Northern Michigan University will hold its 27th annual “Lighting Up the Holidays” celebration from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the University Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Activities include horse-drawn hayrides, free pictures with Santa Claus, children’s books, face-painting, games and crafts. There will be performances by the Northern Lights A Capella group, NMU cheer team and local dancers. Cookies and refreshments will be served. The NMU Bookstore will remain open throughout the evening for its annual holiday sale with 30 percent off.
