Personal Finance and Global Finance Courses Offered

Northern Michigan University’s College of Business has announced two courses that may be of interest to area residents and business professionals.

Personal financial management will be offered from 8-9:40 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 13-April 30. It will address asset management, credit, insurance needs, investment analysis, retirement and estate planning, tax preparation strategies and basic concepts related to personal financial statements and budgets. Instructor Daniel Kill of Negaunee started his own financial advisory firm. He has been involved in variety of roles within the financial services industry over two decades.

Current topics in applied global finance will explore financial concepts, practices and institutions that are driving world financial events. It meets from 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays, January 14-April 29. The instructor is Jesse Wright, who has worked in global financial markets for more than 40 years. His consultant work has included reform of Bangladesh capital markets, analysis of Guyana’s payments system and a strategic plan for the reorganization of a Central American Stock Exchange.
