NMU Day at Marquette Mountain Precedes Investiture

The investiture celebration for Northern Michigan University President Fritz Erickson will kick off Sunday, Feb. 8, with NMU Day at Marquette Mountain from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Day passes will be discounted to $28 for NMU students and employees with ID, as well as alumni.

Attendees are invited to raise a cup of hot chocolate as a toast to President Fritz Erickson in the chalet, then watch or join him as he skis down Snowfield in academic regalia. Photos and video from this event will be shown at the investiture ceremony at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in 1100 Jamrich Hall.

Here is the detailed schedule of NMU Day at Marquette Mountain:

Noon-2 p.m.  NMU (Snow) Board and Ski Club cookout, while supplies last, at Casualties Fireside off Ridge Run.

2-6 p.m.         Musical entertainment by Jim and Ray in the T-Bar.

3 p.m.            Hot chocolate toast to President Erickson led by NMU alumni board member Stacy Welling Haughey in T-Bar.

3:30 p.m.       Follow Erickson down Snowfield. Ski or ride with the president. Anyone interested can participate.
