NMU Symphonic Band Performs

MARQUETTE, Mich.—  The Northern Michigan University Symphonic Band featuring the Saxophone Quartet, with an opening performance by the Wind Ensemble, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, in Reynolds Recital Hall. Admission is free.

The NMU Wind Ensemble will perform Suite Francaise, by Darius Milhaud Irish Tune From County Derry by Percy A. Grainger and Pageant by Vincent Persichetti.

The NMU Symphonic Band featuring the Saxophone Quartet will perform La Péri Fanfare by Paul Dukas, Festivity by Stephan Bulla, Variations on a Korean Folk Song by John Barnes-Chance, Florentiner March by Julius Fučík and  John “Dizzy” Gillespie’s popular jazz work, A Night in Tunisia. NMU music professor Stephen Grugin will conduct Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band.
