Thursday 5, 2015

The Upper Peninsula Area Health Education Center (AHEC) at Northern Michigan University has announced the availability of a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating high school senior. The scholarship is open to Upper Peninsula students who are interested in furthering their education in the health field. It will be paid to the student’s university of choice in two payments over two semesters.

The Upper Peninsula AHEC is made possible by a partnership between NMU and Wayne State University. With a statewide network of regional centers, Michigan AHEC prepares youth for health care careers, promotes clinical training opportunities for students in shortage areas and provides continuing education programs for health professionals.

Applications for the scholarship must be received by the U.P. AHEC office no later than April 15. For more information, contact Carole Touchinski at 227-1640 or ctouchin@nmu.edu.
