NMU Students Receive Michigan Nursing Scholarships
MARQUETTE, Mich.—Six Northern Michigan University students have received Michigan Nursing Scholarships worth up to $4,000 per year. The awards are available to students enrolled at least half time at eligible institutions in a program leading to licensed practical nurse certification or an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
Upon completion of their programs, recipients agree to work as a direct patient care nurse in a Michigan facility or as a nursing instructor at a Michigan postsecondary institution one year for each year of financial assistance received.
NMU students selected for Michigan Nursing Scholarships effective with the 2014-15 academic year, along with their respective programs—licensed practical nurse (LPN) or bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)—are:
Iron Mountain: Brittany Olson, BSN
Ishpeming: Sarah Macdonald, LPN
Norway: Megan Kangas, BSN
Skandia: Rebecca Pirman, LPN
Traverse City: Emily Keene, BSN
Watton: Brooke Davis, BSN
