Hope Starts Here Challenge Hits 10th Anniversary Milestone

MARQUETTE, Mich.—  The River Valley Bank Hope Starts Here Challenge will be held on Saturday, May 9. The challenge is celebrating its 10th anniversary of raising funds and awareness for the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center through competitive and leisurely events geared for all ages and skill levels.

This year’s options for participants are: a half marathon; a duathlon that consists of a 5k run, 10-mile bike and 5k run; a 10k run; a 5k run; and a noncompetitive leisure walk/short bike ride.

The Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center is a collaborative effort between UP Health System, Northern Michigan University and the Superior Health Foundation. Its mission is to empower patients and families dealing with brain tumors through advocacy, research, education and treatment.

Registration fees vary by event and will be slightly higher on race day than in advance. For more information, or to register in advance online, visit www.hopestartshere.org. All events start and finish at Lakeview Arena and complimentary refreshments will be available for paid registrants after the events.
