Media Advisory: Young Wildcat Scholars Camp at NMU

Media are welcome to cover the Young Wildcat Scholars camp at Northern Michigan University. Sixth-grade students from NMU's charter schools in the Upper Peninsula and lower Michigan will descend upon campus for an opportunity to experience residential college life and get a glimpse of what the Marquette community has to offer. NMU expects about 420 students, teachers and chaperones. They will be on campus Wednesday afternoon, May 13, through Friday afternoon, May 15.

The students can select from several available courses under the broad categories of leadership/citizenship, cultural and physical geography and science/technology. They will also participate in recreation at the PEIF and outdoor picnics/hikes.
