NMU Police Academy Holds Graduation
MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan University Regional Police Academy recently held its graduation ceremony, where 14 recruits received certificates of completion. The academy consists of 16 weeks of training that follows a curriculum set by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES). The curriculum covers topics such as firearms, defensive tactics, domestic violence, traffic enforcement, criminal law, criminal justice, physical fitness training and other law enforcement areas.
