Detroit Mayor Gives Talk at NMU

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan will give a public presentation on the revitalization of Detroit at Northern Michigan University on Monday, Nov. 2. His talk begins at 3 p.m. in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building. It is free and open to the public.

Duggan is a Detroit native. After assuming office in January 2014, his immediate priority was to implement a coordinated strategy to address numerous challenges faced by residents over the years, including blight, crime and public transportation. He has also worked during his career to improve access to health care, promote job creation and expand recreational opportunities.

This event is sponsored by the NMU political science department and the political science honor society, Alpha Kappa Eta, NMU chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha.
