NMU Holds Auditions for 'The Secret Garden'

Northern Michigan University's Forest Roberts Theatre will hold community auditions for adult roles in the musical, The Secret Garden. Children's roles have been cast. Appointments can be scheduled online for the evenings of Tuesday, Jan. 12, or Wednesday, Jan. 13, with callbacks beginning at 8 p.m. Jan. 13. Auditions will be held in the Panowski Black Box Theatre in the McClintock Building at Eighth Street and Elizabeth Harden Drive. 

Actors are asked to arrive prior to their scheduled time to complete paperwork and have a photo taken. They should prepare a song from any musical theater production and bring the sheet music to the audition. An accompanist will be provided. A monologue is welcome, but not required. Actors will have one minute to perform.  

The Secret Garden performance dates are April 5-9, with a daytime student matinee on April 7. The production will be directed by Shelley Russell, with music direction by Robert Englehart.
