NMU Hosts UP200 Warming Tent

Friday 5, 2016

The Northern Michigan University Alumni Association will host a hospitality tent near the start gate of the UP200 sled dog race on Friday, Feb. 12. It will be open to the public from 6-9 p.m. on the corner of Washington and Fourth Street in the Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) parking lot.

This family-friendly event will feature a warming tent with heaters supplied by Double Trouble DJs, free hot chocolate and cookies provided by Babycakes Muffin Co. and an opportunity to meet retired Alaskan husky sled dogs, Brianna and Flynt, from Snowy Plains Kennels in Gwinn. During "half time" of the start, visitors will also be able to pose for a photo with the dogs and a dogsled.

The NMU Alumni Association gives special thanks to UPHP and O'Dovero Properties for supporting the event.
