Library Expands 'Chronicle' Access
NMU’s Olson Library has restructured the university’s Chronicle of Higher Education subscription to expand campus-wide access. Anyone with an nmu.edu email address can use the chronicle.com or the Chronicle’s iPad app to view content on or off campus.
“We recognize that people are accessing digital material on lots of different devices,” said Leslie Warren, dean of Academic Information Services. “This is another approach to providing resources in a flexible, user-friendly manner. We invested in the expansion of the Chronicle because many on campus are exploring new ways of doing things and best practices in their respective areas. The Chronicle offers that kind of coverage and now it is available on mobile devices.”
To gain access, go to Chronicle.com and click the “log in” link. Create an account using your NMU email address, then log in with those credentials on future visits to the site. The Chronicle’s iPad app is available through the iPad App Store, making it possible to download weekly issues of the Chronicle to read anywhere. To access the Chronicle’s mobile view on a smartphone or tablet, go to Chronicle.com on your device’s web browser and log in with the Chronicle account you created using your NMU email address.
