NMU Choir Concert

The Northern Michigan University Music Department will present a concert titled “Choral Music from the Western World” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in Reynolds Recital Hall. Admission is free.

The combined NMU Arts Chorale and University Choir, under the direction of Erin Colwitz, will perform choral works from the Renaissance to the 20th century. Repertoire will include an Italian madrigals set by Monteverdi, Arcadelt and di Lasso, as well as Mozart’s “Sparrow Mass.” Works by Brahms, Erin Barnum and spirituals arranged by Moses Hogan and Ken Schrader will also be featured. NMU’s Lake Effect Show Choir, under the direction of Sharon Green, will perform a collection of hits from the musical “Motown."
