Exercise Science Grad Students Present Research

Northern Michigan University's School of Health and Human Performance will present its 2016 Exercise Science Seminar Series.  Second-year graduate students will give talks on a variety of topics at 6:15 p.m. Mondays, March 7-April 18, in room 241 of the Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF). The public is invited.

Graduate students will present integrated literature reviews for 40-45 minutes, followed by 15 minutes for questions and discussion. The schedule follows:

March 7: Isaac Wedig, “Ideal Protein Consumption for Maximal Muscle Strength and Hypertrophy”

March 14: Rachel Farr, “Balance Training to Improve on Ice Skaing Agility”

March 21: Nicole Cornell, “Concussions in the Pediatric Population,” followed at 7:15 p.m. by Kalyan Kondeti, “Rock Climbing Associated Injuries”

March 28: Andrew Jones, “Muscle Physiology and Microgravity”

April 4: Brian Cooper, “Physiology of Ice Hockey,” followed at 7:15 p.m. by Jon Slattery, “Response to CrossFit Programing”

April 11: Karmen Whitham, “The Physiology of Cross Country Skiing-Upper Body Considerations” 

April 18: Andrew Ernst, “Effect of Stretching on Performance Measures”
