NMU Talk Addresses Arctic Ice Melt

Mark Serreze, director of the University of Colorado National Snow and Ice Data Center, will present “The New Arctic” at Northern Michigan University. He will discuss the loss of Arctic ice cover and its influence on the release of carbon from permafrost, global atmospheric circulation and precipitation. Serreze will also address the growing economic and strategic importance of the region.

Sigma Xi, the scientific research society, is sponsoring this event. It is free and open to the public.
