Trauma Informed Care Teleconference Offered at NMU

A teleconference titled “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Trauma Informed Care” will be offered Friday, May 6, at Northern Michigan University. It is geared toward professionals working to improve the health and welfare of individuals.

The conference is being coordinated by the Western Michigan University College of Health and Human Services and transmitted to other state sites, including NMU through the U.P. Area Health Education Center. It runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in room 109 of the Learning Resources Center. Physicians can earn a maximum of 4.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits for attending and social workers qualify for 0.3 CEUs.

Dr. Mark Sloane will give the keynote presentation. Sloane is the Medical Director at the Center for Behavioral Pediatrics. He is considered an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of learning, attention, and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents.
