Young Wildcat Scholars at NMU
The NMU Charter School Office and the School of Education, Leadership and Public Service is hosting Young Wildcat Scholars, a camp for 6th grade students from NMU's nine charter schools. Media are invited to cover the event. Over three days (arriving Wednesday, May 11 and departing Friday, May 13), the camp will provide opportunities for students to experience campus life and a flavor of what the surrounding community has to offer. This year's event is expected to attract 400 students, teachers and chaperones from both the Upper Peninsula and Lower Michigan. The NMU professors coordinating this event are Abby Cameron-Standerford (810-434-5883) and Derek Anderson (906-362-8979).
The best opportunities for photo/video would be classes held on Thursday from 8:30-10 a.m., 10:30-noon and 3-4:30 p.m. Below are the classes, locations and times offered.
