Northern Michigan University's Upward Bound Math-Science program has received nearly $297,000 in continuation funding from the U.S. Department of Education. The award period runs for one year, beginning Nov. 1.
Upward Bound Math-Science is a year-round academic program that includes an intensive, six-week summer experience for those students who have completed the academic year requirements. The UBMS program exposes students to a variety of career fields, improves problem-solving skills and enriches their appreciation for science and mathematics.
The NMU Grants and Contracts Office announced the award, which falls under the direction of Julie Bowerman, NMU Upward Bound director.
