Judge Candidate Forum at NMU

Tuesday 18, 2016

The two men vying for the 96th District Court judge seat will participate in a candidate forum on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Northern Michigan University. The NMU Student Law Forum is hosting the event at 7 p.m. in 1318 Jamrich Hall. It is open to the public.

Karl Weber currently holds the seat. He was appointed in November of last year by Gov. Rick Snyder to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Dennis Girard. Weber is being challenged by local attorney Derek Swajanen. The forum is designed to inform the electorate on this race in advance of the Nov. 8 election.
