Free Drum Clinic at NMU Sunday

Monday 24, 2016

Northern Michigan University's Music Department will host a free drum set clinic with Scott Pellegrom, an NMU alumnus and former finalist in Guitar Center's National Drum-Off Competition. The clinic is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, in Reynolds Recital Hall. It is open to the public.

Pellegrom has established himself as one of Michigan's most-respected, in-demand drummers. His success in reaching the national finals of Guitar Center's Drum Off opened the door to drum education clinics and solo shows worldwide. He has been called one of the most innovative rhythmists today. John Sinkevics of LocalSpins.com wrote, "Whether he's dubbed a 'mad scientist' or a 'magician' on drums, one thing is certain: Scott Pellegrom is an adrenalized, world-class percussionist with unmatched passion for his music and unrivaled admiration from his peers."

For more on Pellegrom, visit his website at http://www.scottpellegrom.com/. Clinic sponsors are the NMU Music Department, Dream Cymbals, Pacific Drums & Percurssion and Aquarian Drumheads. For more information, contact NMU music professor James Strain at 227-2574 or jstrain@nmu.edu.
