Thursday 1, 2016

Northern Michigan University has the 20th best automotive technology program in the nation among four-year schools, according to the 2016-2017 rankings released by AccreditedSchoolsOnline.org.

NMU offers an associate in applied science degree in automotive service technology. The program prepares graduates for employment in the automotive repair industry as maintenance and service technicians.

Students gain hands-on experience with similar tools and equipment used by professionals in the field and develop industry-relevant competencies through their work on late-model vehicles representing a variety of manufacturers. They leave Northern with a wide range of skills, including the ability to troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose electrical and electronic systems, and perform service procedures with a high level of competence. Graduates of the program have an option to seamlessly advance their education through a wide variety of bachelor’s degree programs.

Accredited Schools Online uses a proprietary blend of cost, quality, and student support services to determine overall rankings. The supporting data comes from reputable sources including the schools themselves. The organization focuses its rankings on accredited and not-for-profit institutions.
