NMU Arts Chorale Plans Lower Michigan Recruiting Trip
The Northern Michigan University Arts Chorale will travel to Grand Rapids and Detroit for a recruitment trip from Thursday, March 2, through Tuesday, March 7. The group will meet with and sing for various high school choirs. It will also present a small concert at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Grand Rapids and host a reception afterward for students and NMU alumni.
NMU Music Department Head Robert Engelhart, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choirs Erin Colwitz and Publicity Manager Rusty Bowers will accompany the vocal group.
“By having the Arts Chorale tour, my goal is to create relationships with these high schools and their conductors, and to let them know that NMU is an option,” said Colwitz. “This is a wonderful opportunity for members of the Arts Chorale to tell high school students why they chose to study at Northern.”
