NMU alumnus Corey Welch (MPA 2016) is the new mission advancement director at the Monroe Family YMCA in Monroe, Mich. He previously served as constituent relations director to state Sen. Dale Zorn, R-Ida, serving as a liaison between Lansing and Monroe and Lenawee counties.

Welch is a member of the Bedford Lions Club and the Bedford Goodfellows Club. He also serves on the Heart of Hope Committee through the Bedford Community Foundation and is the vice chairman of the Bedford Township Communications Committee. He is a past member of the board of directors for both the Monroe County Opportunity Program and the Monroe Center for Healthy Aging.
