NMU alumna Leigh Ann (Dalton) Roehm is the 2017 Michigan Middle School Science Teacher of the Year. She was honored March 24 at the Michigan Science Teachers’ Association Conference in Novi.
Roehm leads 7th graders in Saline, Mich. According to a news article, she helps teachers across the country develop innovative curriculum to meet "next-generation science standards" and guides students as they test water quality along the Saline River.
This is Roehm's latest award. Two years ago, she was one of five “master teachers” selected by the National Education Association among 10,000 applicants. The former Wildcat basketball player also coaches the sport. See the article on Roehm here.
