NMU Hosts 109th Candidate Forum Tuesday
NMU will host a forum featuring 109th State House District candidates Democrat Sara Cambensy and Republican Rich Rossway. Campus and community members are invited to serve as the audience for the event, which will be recorded at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in 1100 Jamrich Hall. Doors open at 6. TV6 will televise the forum from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26. NMU public broadcasting, TV6 and the Mining Journal are collaborating on the event.
Cambensy and Rossway will share their views on a variety of issues that affect Upper Peninsula voters. The forum comes two weeks before the special election for the 109th State House District seat. TV6’s Steve Asplund will moderate the forum. Panelists include Nicole Walton from Public Radio 90, Mary Wardell from the Mining Journal and Don Ryan from The Ryan Report on TV6.
“We appreciate the opportunity to join forces with our media partners in making sure that voters have convenient access to candidate information,” said Eric Smith, NMU director of broadcast and A/V services. “We hope the public will join us on Oct. 24.”
