The new Northern Michigan University Curling Club, which is open to students and community members, is hosting an informational open house at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Olson Ice Rink in Lakeview Arena. Admission is $10 to cover ice rental time and equipment. 

NMU provided the club with two sets of curling stones, and Lakeview Arena provided a space for the club to meet. Curling club organizer Marc Solosky believes a club like this is exactly what the area needs.

“People in the Marquette area are interested in curling, they just don’t have an outlet to participate,” Solosky said, “We’re hoping this club can give people the opportunity to try.”
