NMU Celebrates International Education Week

Northern Michigan University's international students will be celebrated Nov. 13-16 during International Education Week. The celebration will include several events for students and community members. All activities will take place in the Whitman Hall commons. 

Monday, Nov. 13 – Alexey Viryasov will present on Russian culture at 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 14 – Kelvin Getuno will present on Kenyan culture at 10 a.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 14 – A Passport to the World event will begin from noon to 12:45 p.m., when NMU study-abroad students share details about their countries and cultures. Visiting scholar Zhi Qiao will perform traditional Chinese music at 1:30 p.m. International students will present on traditional music and dancing at 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 15 – Samantha Johnson will present on Jamaican Culture at 10 a.m.

Thursday, Nov. 16 – Yingrui Xu will present on Chinese Culture at 2 p.m. 

The NMU International Education Services Office is hosting the events.
