Infraguard Addresses Trafficking, Cyber Safety

Media are welcome to cover the Michigan InfraGard Quarterly Meeting from 9:00 a.m. – noon Thursday, Feb. 8, in 109 of the Learning Resources Center. Human trafficking, cyber safety for children and cyber security assessment will be discussed.

The seminar will feature three speakers: Nicole McGee, Victim Specialist for the Federal Bureau of Investigation Detroit office; Cathy McCann of the Michigan Cyber Safety Initiative; and Chris Burrows, Chief Information Security Officer of Oakland County.

The seminar will provide practical tools for internet safety, including how to access the Michigan Sex Offender Registry, understanding the impact of sharing photos with embedded location information and how to recognize the potential dangers and legal ramifications of sexting.
