Inside Austria
- Austria is extremely safe; Vienna is one of the safest cities in the world.
- When traveling anywhere, though, be aware of your surroundings and use common sense:
- do not openly count large sums of money
- do not deal with criminal elements
- respect local laws and customs
- do not leave items unattended
- do not become intoxicated
- travel with trusted friends
Outside Austria
- Do not travel to areas that the US State Department has designated as hazardous or advised against travel.
- Check the US State Department website for Travel Advisories and Consular Information Sheets for any country you are considering traveling to or through.
- Leave your travel itinerary with us as well as with a family or friend in the US in case someone needs to get hold of you.
