Transfer Direct Admission from Gogebic Community College - NMU Admissions

Option 1 New to Gogebic Community College and haven't attended classes: Opt-in through the GCC admission application

Option 2 Already attending GCC: You need to speak with your academic advisor at GCC to join the program. They will provide the NMU Admissions Office with the information we need to welcome you to the program.

Wait for your approval email to confirm you are part of the program

• The confirmation email will arrive after classes start at GCC and they have let NMU know you are a student at their college. It can take 10+ days after the start of the semester to complete this check.
• Get access to your benefits unlocked with your MyNMU portal and ID card

• Meet regularly with your academic advisor at GCC and NMU
• Before you transition to NMU as a degree-seeking student, ensure we have official copies of all of your prior college transcripts. GCC will send their transcripts on your behalf - you are responsible for sending official copies of other schools

Whether or not Gogebic Community College is your first college after high school, you may be able to join this exciting program! Here are the basics to be eligible:

• Attend Gogebic Community College in a degree-seeking program after high school
• Complete the program admissions application by opting in on the GCC application or telling your academic advisor at GCC
• Stay in good academic and conduct standing
• To transfer to NMU your cumulative GPA in ALL college coursework after high school must be 2.0 or higher. You must meet all admissions requirements to a program you apply to, for example, audition requirements in Music, Theatre, and Dance.
